I just moved from Austin, where there's a pretty strong audio and diy community, and was wondering if there's anybody up here? I'm aware of the annual Iowa DIY meet, so there must be a few of us around these parts. I've met one person (my landlord's boyfriend is an audiophile), but I hope there are some more in the area.

I'm in Quincy, Illinois which is a couple hours south of Iowa City. I usually get together with the GAS guys in St. Louis, a great bunch. I haven't found many audiofools around here though.

Get together's are fun !!!
You might get out the yellow pages...look under audio/video...get some store locations...and pay them a visit.
While your there....ask about any local audio clubs in the area. Do the same with local record shops....

I don't know how many AC members are in Iowa....so bump this thread in a few days....maybe some will show up...good luck !

I'm about two hours west of you in Ankeny (just north of Des Moines).  I've done some business with Reference Audio Video in the past and they are pretty decent guys.  You could check in with them for the "local scene."

Greetings from Des Moines.  No clubs that I know of here but many audlophiles.  Two stores of note.  Audio Video Logic and Audio Labs.  I have spent too much money in the former.

Hey guys, I'm in West Des Moines.  If anyone wants to get together and check out systems or whatever, let me know.  I have a lot of gear right now.  4 speakers-Amphion Xenons, WLM La Scalas, Monitor Audio GS 60s, and Mark and Daniel Ruby.  I also have 2 amps and two integrated amps.  Oh, and for a preamp I am using the Red Wine Audio Isabella with the built in DAC.  Unfortunately I don't know anyone else who is into audio like I am.  I have been to Audio Video Logic and Audio Labs numerous time and have bought stuff at each location before.
