nothing too special here but the speaker itself, I still don't know what I am going to do with the bases, paint them black or veneer them. these are my third pair of GR research speakers, and so far these are the best.

Those are beautiful! If you have a chance I would love to read your impressions of the sound of these baby's.
Again, they are beauts!!

Those look awesome. I vote for a roundover on the edges and painted black for the base.

Nice looking speakers...as for the base, I'd veneer it.

Your Neo 3's look great! Nice job. I suggest that you paint the bases black. When I built my AV-3's last year,I made the bases by laminating two (2) pieces of 3/4" MDF together and putting a radius on the top edges using a 3/4" round over bit in my router. I then sanded the bases smooth with 220,320,and then 400 grit sandpaper;wiped throughly with a tack cloth;and then applied a coat of Minwax sanding sealer. After that I sprayed with multiple coats of satin black Krylon Fusion spray paint, lightly sanding with 600 grit sandpaper and wiping with a tack cloth between coats. The attached pictures gives you an idea of how they look.
