Amp suggestions for ML SL3

Hi all...

I have a McCormack DNA-1...and its just not cutting the mustard in my room.  Plenty of power, but rather lean on the bottom.

you know what I want?  I want an amp with at least 300w @ 4ohm and it should sound like an old B&K amp (like the ST-140).

I could pick up an old B&K for that matter...but they dont make one w/the wattage I feel I need to successfuly drive my Martin Logan SL3's.  that, and I think its a big step down from the McCormack.

any other suggestions?
I'm looking to stay under $1500 in the used market.

For that type of load, and for that money, I don't know of anything better than the modded Carver ZR-1600 from 8th Nerve.  You could even add a second down the road, and that would put something insane like 1000 watts into them.

I also had a DNA-1 Deluxe, and I know what you mean. . .

I saw that OneCall is closing out the ATI 250 watt multi-channel amp for around $1500.00, maybe $1595.00.  That's 5 channels of 250 wpc @ 8 ohms, don't know about 4 ohms, but plenty of power.  With 5 channels it may be more than you need, but you could bi-amp and still have a channel left over.
