One of my favorite albums, tho I would have rather seen Heartbeat City released, but this will do.

C'mon, now Wayner. The Cars self-titled debut is a ba-jillion times better than Heartbeat city. The Cars LP is genius from the time your needle first hits the groove until it runs out on side two. They could have stopped right there and left every roller rink just begging for more.

I mean "All Mixed Up" alone was awesome enough, but the rest of the album was so good that song was completely overlooked. Their greatest hits was a waste of wax. They should have just relabled their first release and called it "We've done some good stuff after this release, but this is really 'just what you needed'".

I pre-ordered two copies, for that "just what I needed one two many brews while spinning one of my favorites."

Hoffman did a great job with Heartbeat City on cd.   aa

I really like Ric Ocasek's 2 solo albums, Beatitude and This Side of Paradise. These are also really great albums. Actually I have almost all of the Cars on vinyl and they are a favorite here. Also very good recordings.

I found 4 Cars LPs still sealed at a Half-Price Books a few months back. The amazing part was there wern't warped!

That is a scary thing about finding albums still wrapped. They have great odds at being warped. Good job...or should I say lucky you. I found Supertramp, Live in Paris sealed, and it too was not warped, I think because it was a double LP.

I always preferred "Candy O." As far as high quality reissues, I've seen none. I guess I have to stick with my white label promo copy.

I picked up the Nautilus SuperDisc version back in the 80's. It was a punch out bargain bin deal. One of my better impulse buying decisions.

Life's the same, when you're moving in stereo . . . .

The HDCD of that album is Killer. I think its a nice price too.

Just put The Cars on the table and started flashing back to driving my VW Bug withe the Craig underdash slide out mount cassette deck playing a tape I dubbed from the record. Windows down with the tunes blasting.  :o Now I turn down the radio when pulling up to cars at a light. Friggin' AARP card!

My original lps sound great! :thumb:
