I had this waiting in the mailbox when I got home and I just came back(from a concert).
I am not even finished with disc one and Daniel Johnston's writing alone is blowing me away. He is the original writer composer of the songs on
"Late Great Daniel Johnston Discovered Covered"- one disc with originals and another with covers by mostly well known indie artists.
I recall seeing a trailer for a documentary at some film festival (The Devil and Daniel Johnston). He has led a challenging life with a bipolar disorder. His own voice is unique but endearing, his writing shines. Now I need to rent that film.
