  The standard speaker kits that Danny provides come with high quality Erse poly caps bypassed with Gen. 2 Sonicaps.As an upgrade option,Danny offers the Sonicap Gen. 1 caps which can be upgraded even more with Sonicap Platnium bypass caps. I know the Gen. 1 caps bypassed with the platniums works very well. My question is how much of a sonic improvement would be achieved in bypassing the Erse poly cap with the Sonicap Platnium in lieu of the Gen 2 cap?

It certainly would make an improvement, but for the money spent, I'd first upgrade the main cap.

 Thanks Danny for your reply. The reason I asked the question is because my current AV-1's with the Erse poly caps and Gen. 2 Sonicap bypass caps sound really good. I was just wondering if the Platnium bypass caps would make them sound even better. I take it from your reply that the platnium bypass caps would definitely be better, but not enough to justify the high cost to use with the much cheaper Erse caps. I do plan to go with the Gen. 1 Sonicaps and platnium bypass option the next time I build a pair of your Neo 2x's which should be in the near future.

do the platinums come in higher voltages like 600vdc?

I believe they are rated at 400 VDC.

well, I'm sure it depends on the application.  For some tube circuits 400v is fine but for others it's not enough.  I could use them in my preamp but not my amp.
