I just got this integrated amp less than a week ago and the unit currently has about 15 hours on it. I am quite pleased with the performance of this small little amp that sounded pretty spectacular. The sound quality easily surpassed my separates costing 3X the price. However, I find the bass to lack presence and slam. In comparison to another excellent British amp, the LFD Zero MkIII, the bass on the Elicit seems to be rounded, wooly, less taut and doesn't go as deep. The LFD seems to dig deeper into the lower registers with better slam and control. The bass performance of this small little cracker is truly exceptional. I was just wondering whether the Elicit's bass performance would be close to the LFD if not match it with further break-in. I heard the Elicit needs about 150 hours to sound at its best.
Any advice would be most appreciated.
