Listening

So,

Here i am, sitting in my chair and listening to music. Let me say that i am listening to my computer setup right now and really loving it. I have a sa-xr 50 modded by Wayne(Boulder Cable) from years ago with a Quad core 2.66 with a Musiland monitor 01 usd, VR-1's and some real expensive speaker cable that i don't even know the name of right now. These hi-rez files that are out right now are sweet.  Just thought i let you know that computer based audio can be very, very good
and i don't think there is any going back.

Anyway, was having a great time listening to my computer setup and thought  i would share it with you.

hope to see you all at Jim's in Aug.

Dave,

You like it better than your April Music gear?

Those modified Panny receivers are excellent, from what I've been told.  ASI-Tek uses a modded Panny XR-55/57 at shows and in their reference setup I think.

Computer Audio is very good...just wish my computer was a bit quieter

TVYankee, I know this was posted a while ago but I'm on the trail of this Musiland Monitor device to find out if it's worth a punt.

What other playback systems are you comparing the Musiland to? You are outputting 24/192 to a Panny XR-50 from the Musiland via SPDIF, I presume? What other systems have you listened to at high res through the Panny?

Would love to run it into my Panny but unfortunately my XR-57 is down with a busted power supply - if anybody out there has a working one, please contact

I have just ordered one of these but the US model not the USD. The US model has an internal PCM1793 DAC which I intend to tap into the I2S signals for connecting to other DAC boards. It has optical SPDIF out also. There's some additional PS filter/smoothing in it compared to the USD but I'm not sure yet if this is for the DAC & output stages, anyway, I'll be powering from an external PS.

Some great reviews beginning to appear for it!
