Favourite New Stock 12AU7s

For my new Coronet 2 build I am going to start out with some cheaper new stock tubes. Does anyone have any preferences for the 12AU7?
I know that there are a lot of choices for NOS tubes here, I may tube roll later.
Thanks.

Don't know about new production, NOS 12AU7's tend not to be too pricey. In my Onix SP3 the RFT's have sounded the best.

If you're adventurous, you can find good deals on them on eBay as well, close to what you'd pay for new production.

Check if it can use a 12bh7 tube instead of a 12au7 - IMO it's a better sounding tube. If you must use a 12au7, then Amperex is my favorite, both the Bugle Boys and the Orange Globes are very good.

TAD 12AU7 are full sounding, nice bass, good extension. A little rough, though, but the approximate the RCA full sound midrange... sort of.
