Best SACD's

Blue Coast SACD - they have a couple of releases and IMO stunning sound quality.
Chesky has nice sound quality, I just do not like most of the artists
Telarc of course for Classical - I am bias to Michael Bishop engineered releases
MoFi SACD also has nice sound quality - but again limited artists
Kimber Kable and Ray's Iso-Mike releases - great sound quality for both 2ch and MCH, limited artists

A couple of titles for you....Flim and the BB's - Tricycle, Mark Knopfler - Shangrai-La (much better than BIA)

Check out each label and see if there is something you like for the music.

Yes, that is quite good. The sense of hall acoustics, and just the creativity of the soundscape is wonderful FIM's stuff is generally very good.

I need to put my $.02 in here soon. I have such a large list that I don't know where to start (I'm a huge SACD fan and have been for some time).

Ted I can't wait to see your list !!!! How many do you own ? Are there duds? because,
So far all of mine sound super!!

The bass on all of them sound so much better, cleaner, richer.!! That's besides how clear the instruments and voice sound too.

Really enjoying The Yo - Yo Ma Plays Ennio Morricone !!!

I also got the Groove Note True Audiophile The the Best of Groove Note ( I am not sure which volume ) very nice!, Only seven tracks though I got the DSD Multichannel I don't even have multi channel Lol
All the tracks do sound real nice . Two artist on here both new to me Jacintha and Eden Atwood I use this SACD when demoing voice and real nice to listen to.

+1 on Avalon. Just is fantastic on SACD. And that cover. I would love to have it reproduced in high quality and put that in my audio room.
All the covers of Roxy Music are good, but that is my favorite.

Don't want to get into any old flame wars of high resolution audio, but I think the DvD-A versions of the first three albums by the Grateful Dead are quite good as well.

Only have about a dozen sacd, plan on purchasing more based on recommendations. Only 3 for now more to follow as I re-listen. My choices are in multi-channel.

Allman Bros. Fillmore East: Thought it was excellent in pcm, but sacd takes it to another level in dynamics. Greg Allmans's guitar has such an edge to it, it sounds mean, with rich harmonics.

Whipping Post gets played over an over can't get enough. In Memory of Elizabeth Reed is more icing on the cake.
A follow up to this album is Eat a Peach, also available in sacd, which I understand was part of the original LP, not included in Fillmore East sacd.

Kitaro: Kojicki
This is Japanese New Age instrumental music. Very artistic once use to the style. Track 4 is the stand out track with the taiko drums, but the whole album is good.

Kitaro: Daylight, Moonlight- Live in Yakushiji
Is another exceptional Kitaro performance and multi-channel shows it off quite well. There are two tracks with taiko drums which will not fail to impress if you like the deep sound of these drums. As well as some beautiful melody tracks.

Try Jacintha "Autumn Leaves". Great sound. great songs, great singer. I brought this to my audio dealer to audition some loudspeakers and he was so impressed with the album that he now uses it to demo.

Just placed an order for, Some Skunk Funk, Isles to the Court- New Age Celtic, Of the Marsh ant the Moon, Foghat- Fool for the City. And cd Downchild Blues- Live at the Palais Royale.

What's with sacd prices? They've gone through the roof. Like Roger Waters-the Wall, I paid 20 bucks or so and now its like 90 dollars!

Some are out of print, so like anything else they go up. Some Skunk Funk, though, is $7 used on Amazon.

I don't buy used. I don't like dealing with other than amazon. Some are good but I've had problems in the past getting orders. One I sent the sacd back cause I couldn't get it to work and never got the refund. Now the sacd is selling for like $200 bucks.

With Amazon.ca I get free shipping.

Received, Some Skunk Funk sacd a few months back. Not really into jazz but found the whole performance relaxing and listenable. Excellent multi-channel recording that will show off the sacd format.

Still waiting on Foghat- sacd, they must have lost my order.

Yup, this is one of the best.

I also have Brothers in Arm in CD (SBM) and SACD and SACD blows the audio CD away.

A great buy is the SHM-SACD compilation set (Journey to the top of the world) with the green SACD only SHM disc and the regular (silver) multichannel SACD hybrid disc with the same 11 songs so you can compare regular vs Super High Material disc. There are like 4 pop/rock cuts, 4 Jazz and 3 Classicals.
