I am thinking seriously about a the Simaudio Moon CD1.  It can be found used for about a grand.  However, at the same price point I can get a new Marantz SA8003.  The Marantz has SACD capability, which does matter to me.  On the other hand, there is little doubt about the quality of Moon CD1  (see a March review by Doug Schneider.)  I do not know which way to go.  Any one able to offer any opinions or comparisons on these two machine?  I thank you for you opinions.

This may be a bit late but I have one and it sounds very, very good. Great dynamics with accurate tonality along with a spacious and deep soundstage. It definitely sounds better than my Sonic Frontiers SFCD-1 with NOS tubes and tweaks. There have been several personal experiences which have similar conclusions to mine in the various audio forums.
