North Mississippi Allstars

Hello all I have not visited the circle in a while -
I picked up the newest North Mississippi Allstars  Hernando and love the raw energy of this recording  :thumb:
I was wondering what other North Mississippi Allstars  recordings are similar to this one can anyone sugest any others I see they have a few
Also The Hill Country Revue ( a North Mississippi Allstars  ) side project is great also

One, I highly recommend is "Shake Hands With Shorty".

Hernando isn't the latest North Mississippi All Stars--this is:

It's pretty good, but I like their earlier work better...
I second "Shake Hands with Shorty"; it's probably my favorite.  Also check out "51 Phantom" from the same time period as "Shorty".  "Hill Country Revue: Live at Bonnaroo" is an excellent live album and includes others, such as RL Burnside, etc...highly recommended. :thumb:

You think the cd is good . . . check 'em out live.  Tremendous show.  Got to see them last year at the Neigborhood Theater in Charlotte and they rocked the house. :dance:

Oh I have seen them live in small place in NYC with Hill Country as opener and Luther came out and jammed with Hill Country and (them dickinson boys can jam)
The end of the night was all of hill country and NMAS with robert randolph great jam
I also have the Black Crowes show in a few weeks -Luther is still playing with crowes I think

I liked Shake Hands with Shorty and didn't really care for Hernando.

Ditto, "Shake Hands With Shorty"  If you have not heard these guys in concert,do yourself a favor and go to a show.They are a tight band.

their first and best album. Highly recommended. Nothing else they've done does much for me but that's a great album.
