Kings Of Leon Only By The Night
« on: 15 Jul 2009, 09:27 pm »
Hello, after having listened to their music on the radio in the car over the last month I could not resist temptation to find out how their number one (the one that goes whoooooaaaaa your sex is on fire!) would sound on vinyl so have ordered it.
Has anyone got it and is it a good recording/mix/pressing? Thanks, Ben.

Browntrout,

Anything to report yet on how the vinyl version sounds?

I was considering getting "Because of the Times" on vinyl but a little hesistant without a review/recommendation given how iffy the vinyl issues can be.

PS - your fish looks bigger than my fish.  And that's not a brown trout

Hello, I recieved my record 'Only By The Night' this morning and have listened to it once through. It is two discs at normal speed, it was recorded nicely with the studio having a little ambience so the sound has some space to it. There is very little music on each side so the grooves have plenty of space.
It sounds very good to be honest, nothing sonically to put one off the music and seems well balanced though I'm listening in a new room so are getting used to how it sounds at the moment. The songs are nice to listen to if a bit generic and musically simple, though all music does not have to be complicated.
I'm pleasantly surprised with the quality of the sound the record produces, very good indeed.

P.s The fishing that day was brilliant Kenreau, between ten of us we caught fourty Cod and sixty Bass some alot bigger than the one in my picture but that one was the nicest to my eyes and later my tummy.  :D That is a nice fish you have there for sure fly fishing is a great skill.
