P8 and the HT bypass
« on: 14 Jul 2009, 03:12 pm »
I am looking to purchase a P8 to replace a Conrad johnson PV-15 which has a HT bypass. I run the front mains from my Anthem D2v to the CJ and then from the CJ to the amps. Then I must press the bypass button on the CJ remote. can I assumer that the P8 would worjk the same? i have read some posts that there was software/firmware that enabled the 3rd input to act as a standard input rather than a 0db bypass. Also some posts on hum issues. can anyone elaborate?

Thanks,

Lou

We no longer offer HT-bypass on the new P-8S. The older P-8 is capable of HT-bypass on input 3 but has to be programmed at the factory.  We do have a few copper or gold color P-8 in stock that we can sell at discount and program the HT-bypass.

If you want the absolutely best bypass solution, go with the more expensive P-9. When you "turn off" P-9 using the remote control (in this case, the power is not completely off), any input becomes HT-bypass.
