tectum panels
« on: 10 Jul 2009, 06:41 am »
Quick question....

I am in the commercial wall and ceiling business and in the last 4 schools we have built
Tectum panels have been used in the gym. They usually go directly on the walls....
In the newest group of schools the tectum is going over a framework of 2x2 wood with
rockwool insulation behind.....I build these schools, dont design them....
I am in the middle of building a dedicated 2ch room...and will have access to these
panels. Has anyone here ever used these for home audio?
Heres a link:

Thanks..................Perry

I've not used them for home audio but have in commercial applications and in a couple of large home theaters.  They're OK especially if you can get them at a discount.  Just know specifically how you want to use them.  They specs at 1k and 2k for this particular product seem to vary a lot depending on the space behind it (very surprising).  The increase in lower end performance IS expected as space behind goes up.
