I have heard some cuts, but not the whole thing yet.

Initial impressions are positive.

I bought the new Wilco album yesterday and have listened to it 3 times (am listening to it now for the forth) and it's getting better. I would say it's not as good as Sky Blue Sky but there are some nice songs on it. FYI Starbucks has it for $12.95 ( I payed $13.99 at Borders).

I'm awaiting delivering as well.  $9.99 from Amazon.

The one tune that gets played on the radio sounds good.

I hope it is better than Sky Blue Sky. Not my favorite from them.

I like the songs on Sky Blue Sky, but not the way it was recorded and the songs do sound much better preformed live. ( Ted B. and I saw Wilco last year at a local high school theater). This album does have a nice duet with Feist which is a different direction for them.

Love it.....it usually takes me a while (months) to warm up to a new Wilco album......not this one. IN to it after the 2nd play.  :thumb:

Gave it one listen through in the car and loved it! Will rip it and listen to it at home tonight. I really think this is a very complete album and will likely have something for every fan.

I heard that tour was very good. I really like the duet. It kind of reminds me of Colin and Emmylou's duet on Wide awake it's morning.

I agree with Rob (questfortone) that the SBS stuff that was performed live is great music..but that the pablum-like production on the studio Sky Blue Sky album ruined them, IMO.   Anyway, the new album is very good (but I still prefer the Summerteeth/YHF harder, drug-induced, progressive Wilco  8) ), and the production is much less processed on first blush.  Bring it on, George!  :D

The tour was excellent!!

I caught a few shows in a small theater in Denver and they rocked both nights.

I wish I knew that before I bought the CD :bawl:
Oh well, it is still worth it, even though I know I am going to buy the LP too.  Anyone want to buy a gently used copy of the CD?

Like it even more a few weeks later. Going to see them at a venue that sits about 850 people next week.

How much feedback/distortion is on this CD? For some of their others, I've never finished listening to certain songs.  I RUN to the remote to fast forward through those.  I can't see buying another CD where I can't stand several of their songs on the CD.

That is the exact opposite experience from mine. I find the album extremely easy and pleasant to listen to and enjoy every track on it.

Feedback is part of the music.... you might as well go straight to musak!  Wilco is practically filed under easy listening.... lol
