So what kind of vaccum do I need to use with the KAB EV-1??

I have a dyson home vacuum cleaner, will that work?

Not sure if mine is optimal but it's 4HP and works well with my KAB ev1. On the vac hose there is a little twist valve to bleed off pressure if needed-but I don't : Metro Vac and Blo [info] Depending on the hose of the Dyson, you may be able to use that. My Dyson has a wand type manual hose which would require an adapter, not sure how common that is on Dysons.

Mine also had a wand, but if you press the gray tabs where it connects to the hose, you can remove it leaving just the hose...

This has me thinking its usable.

In the end it looks like 180 to get it shipped here to me; that's not too bad if I can use the vacuum I have now.

Better money rarely spent on vinyl playback.  Better than equivalent outlay in a 'better' deck or phono preamp.

Perhaps the only thing equaling it in improving your enjoyment of the medium is a really decent maple or granite (or whatever works) sub-base/shelf and some feet that sound best to you.

Aside from that, the RCM is King of Value in Vinyland :thumb:

Reading and replying to this thread motivated me to get caught up on cleaning - but the old dirt devil hand vac went up and died! :duh:

Turned out to be a good thing tho...  hooked up the Kenmore Upright, and not only does it have better suction, it's also was much quieter.  Ran it on low - definitely don't need all the suction it offers and would never use the shop vac.
