74 years of Kodachrome...Retired.

Time marches on...old standards fall to new emerging ones. Kodachrome follows Polaroid, exit stage left. Kodak confirms that the last run will be the last. Farewell, old friend.

Hey!

Oh! Shit!  :bawl: :bawl: :bawl: :bawl: :bawl:

I knew that this would eventually happen. :(

Kodachrome have a very unique looks to it and definitely a place in photography's history... a big one at that, even Paul Simon wrote a song about it. :D

Somehow I knew that in transparency film world Kodachrome's days are numbered since unlike E-6 it was hard to find a lab that you could just drop it off and pick it up in about 2-3 hours. :?

I do have a few slides of the Kodachrome and they are still look brilliant as the I got it back by mail from Kodak many years ago :D

But one thing I know that many years or should I say a couple of decades from now my grandchildren will be able to open my box full of Kodachrome slides and I bet they will still look good. :D Not sure about my digital photo files though!

Well, fare well my old friend. I will have to keep my fingers crossed that my beloved Tri-X will stick around longer than I am

Take care,
Buddy :thumb:
