Considered to be one of the finest pre-amps Jeff Rowland has produced. Still a state of the art unit. Read this review by Thomas Norton, it is still relevant today as when it was first published. It says it all. Originally sold for $5000, and still commands a price above 2K on the used market.http://www.stereophile.com/amplificationreviews/948/ Pre-amp is in superb condition. Decided to place this pre-amp back on the market along with my Model 5 amplifier. I decided to return to SET amplification for my high efficiency speakers.A 150 wpc amplifier is just too much power for 98dB efficient speakers, especially when the pre-amp has a stepped resistor ladder volume control. So I am going to make a clean break and let the Consummate go too.

Ran the pre-amp into a high quality 300B tube amplifier and got excellent sound. This pre-amp is still a high performance unit, but now it has a reasonable price tag. The Consummate is still competitive with 5K pre-amps, and the technology in it has not been surpassed by current products.
