This speaker is easy to drive and produces wonderfully smooth, natural and fatigue-free sound.  It has the speed, coherency and midrange purity one would expect from a well-implemented single driver.  Engaging and easy to listen to, they are really excellent on vocals, jazz, folk, acoustic and chamber music.  The transmission line bass provides a surprising amount of fullness and punch.

It utilizes the Fostex FE167E driver in a mass-loaded transmission line design.  The build is very solid, and front porting makes for easy room placement.

This pair is factory assembled and has upgraded components in the LC (frequency hump compensator).  It is my understanding that this corrects for the slight FR anomalies that some say this driver exhibits.  I can unequivocably say that I personally have never ever heard any kindof shout or honkiness whatsoever from this speaker, so I guess it works.

All relevant details are here:

This pair is about 16 months old.  I bought it locally from the original owner, so they have only been shipped once.  The condition is impeccable......easily a 9/10 on the AG scale....but I will call it an 8 to be conservative.  (That mark on bottom of right speaker in first photo is dust on the camera lens.)

Spikes are included, but no shipping cartons, so I require a local sale (NY 11561).  Reasonable distance delivery can be discussed.

If you are seriously interested, an audition can be arranged.

Asking:   $550  $500
MSRP:     $1095

Thanks,
John

Thats a crazy crazy price for a seriously good speaker!
I had built those, and was extremely happy with them. If i had the space, i'd not have sold those.

Great speakers, in fact, i liked these better than Brines' more expensive LT-2000.

John,

what happened I thought she had her heart set on the ML Prefaces? The fit and finish is certainly a hell of alot better on these and I'm sure they sound pretty good as well.  Those Brines sure look good too, Wish I could have heard those when I was over.  Good luck with the sale

Hi Ken....

She was concerned that the ML would require SS power....and she is quite fond of her tubes.   8)

If you think you might be interested in the Brines, I'm sure an audition can be arranged.
