This link was posted on the Madisound board. It may be old news to some... anyway I thought it rather interesting to browse through them

I love this comment from SoundStage reviewer Grant Samuelsen about the Talon Khorus's bass.

"no other speaker I know of can re-create what the Khoruses accomplish in the nether regions."

Note the less expensive speakers...

Some speakers of the less expensive variety have a hump/spike at 80hz.  This is that faking low bass midfi effect.

However:
Note the wilson sophia and watt/puppy 6:  a massive spike starting from about 16khz and up.  This provides the ILLUSION this speaker is more revealing.  In reality, it's just a response spike or resonance.

Rememeber when the Talon line first came out?  The ads boldly stated "30-100 times faster than an electrostat." Wheather or not they sound good is moot at this point.  They lost my interest the moment they came out with such a flooby-dust foo-foo high end gullibility statement. I was waiting for  Joe Isuzu to pop out and say "HE's LYING!"
