Audio Alchemy DLC preamp for sale. This remote controlled preamp can control left and right channels independently, and volume control is in precise 0.5 dB steps. This preamp also features an active/passive construction that means that there is no gain added until it is needed. I never got even close to the crossover point that adds gain with my speakers.
There are 4 RCA inputs and the 2 RCA outputs will allow you to easily bi-amp or add a subwoofer.
This preamp handles all functions (volume, balance and input selection) digitally to avoid signal degradation that comes with mechanical switches and controls. And I haven't even mentioned how little space this unit takes up!
This unit has an upgraded power supply made by Channel Islands, where many of the folks from Audio Alchemy ended up. Channel Islands described this Channel Islands HPPS power supply to me as falling somewhere between the much sought after Audio Alchemy Power Station 2 and Power Station 3. Almost every review of Audio Alchemy equipment mentions that the upgraded power supplies make a huge difference.
This great-sounding unit is controlled by a remote control only. I do not have the original OEM remote control but will supply a Universal Remote Control professional series Home Theater Master SL-8000 universal remote. This remote (still sold new for $129) can control up to 8 audio and/or video components, and its manual includes the code for Audio Alchemy models. The SL-8000 does have a small crack in the LCD screen, which does not affect functions at all. I have also used this preamp with a Logitech Harmony remote control. Any of the Harmony remotes that can access the online remote database can control the DLC. A remote with an infrared learning function can also be used.
$OLD obo
If you have another Audio Alchemy Power supply, I'd sell the DLC without the Channel Islands power supply at a discount (and keep the CI power supply for a DIY project).
I will try to post pics later.
