Flash of Genius

Flash of Genius is a very nice movie detailing the life of Dr. Robert Kearns who invented the intermittent wiper system and how he fought his most publicised law suit against the Ford Motor Company for infringing upon his patents (although not deliberate per the courts). It's very well done with Greg Kinnear as the lead actor. The link to the patent is here. This might also belong in the Lab forum but given that its a movie I thought I should post it first here. Being a diy'er, I feel that credit should be given when its due. When you look at the patent and schematic the idea is so simple yet very, very relevant.

I enjoyed this one as well.  Well done movie.
A victory for the little guy but boy do you have to work for it.  Crazy to think that there are many more stories like this to tell.

Can I ask a question I would otherwise have no reason to ask, Do windshield wipers on headlights make any meaningful difference?

I saw this on the same flight to Hong Kong (a couple months ago) as the Academy Award winning 'Slumdog Millionaire'

Perhaps Slumdog lost a lot more watching it on a 9" screen on the seatfront ahead of me (with my Westone canalphones providing the audio), but I found it as enjoyable as Slumdog.

It was a very nice little film that once again shows off how terrific an actor Greg Kinnear is :thumb:

Confession: As I have mentioned previously, I have a love-jones for Lauren Graham (who plays his long-suffering wife)  :inlove:

Now it all makes sense to me John.  You know was watching this movie and in the back of my mind had this thought that I should be looking out for something in this film based on something I read.  The movie ended and I never figured out what I was supposed to be "taken" with on a particular level.  Then your post came and it hit me, that I read a comment of yours about this film and that woman before.  Sadly, she or her role wasn't anything moving for me but at least not I've got that bug out of my head.  But I can see the attraction.
