I'd bet my life the F-22 doesn't use tubes. This, despite the fact that EMP, heat and cold are still as much of a problem as it was 30 years ago. That being said, I wonder how we've overcome those issues using solid state technology. Knowing that may help to design a solid state amp.

Hi Bob,

Perfect shielding in the jets. Even at SAC headquarters (inside a mountain)  which has huge springs to protect against the jarring blast of a direct nuclear blast, even a pin hole will allow enough pulse to enter and screw up things. As the distance increases the effects are not so severe though.

Cheers.

Microwave ovens all have a tube in them?
Magnetron tube, to be specific.

That tube like something you'd use to create EMI/RFI, than the vacuum tubes we'd typically talk about on this forum.

My tube amps have never had any rfi/emi issues at your house. Nuff said.
