so I have been reading many of the more recent threads here and all I can say is wow!!!! there is so much stuff out there I have never heard of and most of it costs more than my car. Dang well we need a champion for the poor so to speak a Knight who will bring higher end audio to we the unwashed masses.

) I can only dream of some of the stuff I am reading about. I have been building speaker enclosures for many years not many but some. I started with a bose 901 wanna be which used five radio shack three inch or four inch drivers I dont remember which. I used one for the tweeter and the other four arranged around a tower for the woofers. It actually sounded pretty good,
My second was a really big almost voice of the theater sized base reflex using again a radioshack 12 inch and horn. It was loud. Then a number of years later I did a design I found in a radio shack book which used a double ported box, sort of a double box one ported into the other and the other to the outside. I believe it was a band pass but thats not what it was called. It also sounded quite good but the box fell apart soon sigh. My latest venture was the GR a/v3 about four years ago. Now that I have finally found a good placement for it it sounds quite splendid. but I have been bitten by the open baffle designs since I got my elon 1s about ten or so years ago. Its funny how things seem to go full circle. I remember as a kid listining to the magnavox counsel and thinking how good it sounded way back in the mid fifties and it was open backed heheheh.
Anyway looks like theres a lot to learn from you guys. So maybe I will trade my sawstop for some high end mono blocks.
