Being a knucklehead, I managed to wreck my Blue Point cartridge. I'm now looking to replace it, preferably with something warmer sounding. I've been looking at the Ortofon Super OM20 at $115, which seems like a great price. Does anyone know how this cartridge compares to the Blue Point sonically?

Hi Jon,

 Sorry don't know about the Ortofon.I switched from a Blue Point Special to a Dynavector 10x4.The Dyna bested the BPS in every category.Particularly impressive was the lack of surface noise compared to the BPS.

Finallly got my Ortofon Super OM20 mounted onto the NAD 533. WOW! What a huge improvement over the Blue Point that it replaced.  I would very highly recommend this cartridge for anyone looking for to spend less than $250, and at $115 shipped (JandR.com) it's a great bargain.
