hi all,

this is my first post on this forum. Just thought id share a little insite for all you MF-X component amp users (musical fidelity). I placed a matching size (width/lengh) of deep southafrican sandstone (with fossils!) underneath the separate powersupply and its improved my sound? how weird, just thought i mite try a system tweek. The image has strenghend and instruments are now more clearly separated?? also the clarity has been 'highlighted' and the bass extend slightly deeper. i know this unit holds a large Torodial transformer and when i got mine at first i had to open it up and screw the insides tighter because of a buzzing/vibration (it does seem to need good isolation. so if anyone has this power supply (many MF products carry this) then place something underneath.. i will try an upload an image to show you what im using. I really was amazed at the difference.. akin to improving by a number of ££`s

I don't know what you're talking about, but I wanted to chime in and recommend The Streets.  That's a great disc, and that particular track is what got me into them. . .

Hey Sine,

My theory is that your sandstone with fossils perhaps has many mini stratified layers and varied density/hardness partiles that makes it more ideal in minimizing the propogation of mechanical resonance.

Have you used other "audiophile" platforms before such as Symposium or Neuance?

i used rubber pods under neath but did not get the dame effect as when using the sandstone platform !?

+ Hantra... yup im a big Streets fan, also high contrast. Try Album TrueColurs-special edition its not like the streets but it has a simular vibe. its drum and bass but not hard, its uplifting and the first track is exellent so is 5, 6 and ... err well all tracks are grea but 3 is a bit lame.
