Need source for rubber surrounds
« on: 24 May 2009, 12:00 pm »
Hi folks, I am from germany and sadly it?s really hard to find rubber surrounds to repair my
classic focal speakers. The woofer is a 10". Is there any manufacturer?s/ dealer?s adress or eMail you
can recommend ? Foam surrounds in matching measures I could also find here in germany but I need
RUBBER material.

For example I know Trevor from speakerworks.net (fine adress but he mostly offers foam surrounds).

Thanks in advance

I didn't check if they specifically have rubber, but I've bought parts from:
 http://www.speakerrepair.com/

I checked PartsExpress and it doesn't look like they have rubber.

Hope that helps

Thanks bichi,
at present I wait for a reply of an big german surround manufacturer I phoned up the last days.
They have several hundreds of surrounds in range. Maybe they can help me and in fact they don?t provide usually private inquiries. Otherwise I would check up your suggestions

"bichi"?

Pardon me for asking, but I've got to know the meaning/reasoning of the name.

neutralos,

- possible to share name or link of company?
- looking to replace rotted foam surrounds with rubber on Beovox RL-140 panel speakers.

Bob in St. Louis,

meaning?
- first initial and part of my last name...
- quickly crafted back in 1200baud analog modem and BBS days, and been in use ever since.
- wonder what went thru your mind, when you first saw "Hummer...?"

Hi bichi, of course. When I googled for DKM in krefeld germany I found this interesting link
in english. As I told you they usually don?t support
private persons:

http://www.kurtmueller.com/dkmenglish/Newsletter_01_08_engl.pdf

You can find an excel file with nearly 900 different speaker surrounds. I got it from their
homepage (english supported) after phoned up with them:
http://www.kurtmueller.com

They can deliver many speaker parts. Hope this helped

HA, HA....Ok. Understood, I gotcha.
That's going back aways to the 1200 baud days.
Regarding the Hummer, yea....just what you thought.
