The Transporter is a neat toy but suffers from a overly complex and long output stage using two ordinary opamps, a ton of filters and coupling caps. We can shorten the signal path tremendously on the output of the transporter making it sound way, way better for a mere $100. For $200 we can mount our own circuit board with the very latest and best sounding single op amp (I know of no one else using it yet), single pole filtering and two modified 15 volt discrete regulators and DC couple it directly to the output jacks (no coupling caps).....this new op amp and output stage/regulator combo sounds very, very close to nothing and will give better bass and dynamics than a passive or transformer based output stage. Finally an opamp/regulator combo that can compete with and beat most discrete stages. This output stage is a breakthrough and we will be using it in all our products. Don't be fooled by the low price here.....this new output stage will completely transform your Transporter. We can do other mods to the Transporter as well......better clocks, better parts for the DAC, etc. We are also looking at a simple way to have a four position volume switch so you could use it in combo with the digital volume and not lose any bits of info when running straight into an amp.
