Power Wraps and All Clears

Anybody familiar or have experience with these?  Some guys think that treating RFI, what I believe these products are designed to, will diminish or rid the sytem of digititus.  That make sense?  75 ohm BNC cable, too, has been suggested.  With improvements I've been making in my system of late, the icy glaze of digititus (?) has become more intolerable.  Any suggestions are appreciated.

BTW, I use a mid level Sony DVD player as a transport feeding a Bel Canto DAC2 by means of a Stereovox dig cable.  Better isolation has also been mentioned as a means to that end tho I don't know of any means.

I need help.

Search over at AA. There are many posts there on these. I use quite a few of these. Mostly on powercords but some on the digital cable and speaker cables. Three would be a good number to experiment with - transport, DAC and digital cable. You can double or triple up on a powercord.

It is difficult to know what is causing your problem but RFI can enter anywhere in the system and go everywhere. It will ride on the signal, go through feedback loops and modulate with transients. The powerwraps will remove some without rolling off the highs like ferrite clamps do.

Thanks, Bob.  I know more than I did.  Wrapped my IC's at their RCA's with some foil tape just today.  On a particular recording I use because it has so much unusual information and ambience, seems like it's more open and finer detail is emerging.

Keep in mind that the upsampling inside your DAC might be responsible for the icy glaze of digititus. Or maybe it's the nature of your DVD player. Tweaking for RFI and such may or may not be what you're really trying to correct.

Now that I think about it, I have a (new) power conditioner.  Shouldn't that take care of RFI from power cords?  I understand there are aftermarket products to reduce jitter, too.  How does that work?

And I may have a plan . .  gonna set up a meet with a new friend.  The same friend that recommended Morrow Audio cables which I have ordered (MA3's with Eichmann's).  I ordered these because I've been listening with the same cheap, flat and fast IC's that Corey Greenberg raved about years ago (that's how long I've been using them, too), Kimber PBJ's, and because my new friend is bananas for the Morrow's.  Anyway, he has high end gear and downloads everything.  Uses an EMM USB dac driving some mammoth Gilmore speaks and amps.  So, I'm gonna have him download some CD's that sound nasty to me and compare their playback against my nasty sounding disc's.  And if he's got the patience and I can ingratiate myself further, using my transp, dig cable and dac in his system.  How about them apples?

Please share with me what you know about jitter and it's effects and any after market products to reduce or eliminate that.  Thank you.

ps- as I am typing I'm listening to a Diane Reeves CD in my computer on some Audioengine small speaks and while my main system is in a whole nuther league, I'm not hearing any silvery or chromy t's or s's on her voice (transients are comparatively duller, tho).  WTF?  Again, thanks.
