Bryston Step Up Transformer

James (or anyone else, who may know), could you talk about this device? Technical specifications, history, anything that you would not mind sharing?

Hi,

It was called the TF-1 and was a MC outboard setup transformer (cause the transformer is the PROPER way to stepup a MC cartidge).

It is the same transformer we still use today in our MC Phono Stages. They are extremely expensive to make.

Gain other than what is shown in the Specs?
