Digital converter box

I'm using a digital converter box from Best Buy on our old CRT television.
Has anyone else been bothered by the high-frequency tone that it gives off ?
I should probably play a test CD to help estimate the frequency, but I'm too lazy right now.  Naturally, it bothers my nephew more than it troubles us.

What brand and model?  I haven't noticed anything annoying out of the Insignia (rebadged Zenith).  Also, is the device giving off the tone, or is it coming out of the speakers?

I have two types. One is Digital Stream, which is from Radio Shack. The other is Insignia. I don't know where it came from because it was given to me.

I've not had your problem with either.

The converter box is an Apex DT250.  The tone is coming from the box:  it's undiminished with the television turned off.
