It is a SS power supply but has more caps etc. See pics. I originally sent this to Dan, for a checkup. I wasn't happy with the sound. He upgraded the power supply. When I got it back, it sounded like another preamp! Improved in all areas! I later sent it back in for more mods and the tech there recommended the upgraded caps which made it more nuanced and natural sounding. This is the best preamp I have owned. It beat out a Belles 28A, a Joule LA-100III, a CJ PV-11, a Rogue Magnum 99, and a Promethous transformer preamp and others I can't remember. I also have a bunch of NOS tubes included with it.
Tungsols, Sylvania's, GE 7044s. Also Herbie tube dampeners and an upgraded Volex power cord. Hate to sell it, but want to get a preamp with built in phono stage. Email jeffjazz@comcast.net Thanks!
