Can a "Stream" be downloaded and loaded in your mp3 player, like a Podcast?

I am new at this, but was wondering if it is possible to download a "stream" broadcast and convert it.
Been listening to a fabulous broadcast from St. Louis station KDHX this morning, and need to leave soon for Bountiful, and want to put this on my little portable player.
Anybody know if this is possible? Easy?

A podcast isn't a stream, its a download. Podcasts can be audio only or video and are placed (submitted) by anyone and offered for free.

Streams are usually media that are delivered by a server that are not kept on the recipients computer permanently, its cached temporary. Also in many cases the stream is copyright protected in that the provider does not easily allow the stream to be kept (downloaded permanently) to your computer.

Youtube streams data and technically its against their pollicy to allow you to download and keep the media. 3rd party sites and apps that allow this are side steeping the rules. See?

Sirius radio streams their audio to a web browser and its VERY difficult, if not impossible, to record the stream.

Thanks, Boead.
I figured as much.
There must be problems with them, as I get about 5 minutes into the program and it just stops. I have a fast ISP, so I don't think that is the problem.  I have tried it with both my desktop, and now my laptop, which uses their recommended player, and it stops in the same place.
I'll email them, but I don't expect a reply.
Too bad...a great playlist, and personality for the show.

I use Replay Music, http://www.applian.com/replay-music/index.php, whenever I need to record a stream, it works great.

I believe RealPlayer can do this. It's free.
