Have any of you messed around with T-amps and high efficiency drivers like fostex or audio nirvana?  I saw these amps can be had for $70 at parts express.

I also saw this review on TNT-audio - link

I have no experience, but partsexpress also has this T-amp for $39.

Hi "d.c.",

Yah, I've fooled  around with a few of those amps, along with a few different speakers.
My Altec 19's ran 'happy' with that original little Sonic Impact, that I still own.  Right now, it got parked at my wife's computer work station firing the speakers for her audio there.
I've also got a Teac that got modded work with batteries that jams pretty well also on the 19's.
I have several sets of high sensitivity speakers around here I've dinked with enough to marvel at how well the SI and Teac play.
I haven't tried the SI with the Hornshoppe Horns I've got, but now you have me thinking to try it.
If you ever want a listening session before plunking down money, and don't mind driving as far as into Illinois in Collinsville, shoot me a p/m and we can set something up.
I might have to buy one of those SI version two models just to see how it plays.   For those prices, one can afford to have them laying around 'the stable' for tinkering.
Certainly it is a direction worth investigating, if you have the inclination.

Best Regards!

Sounds like a few people have tried them out with favorable results.  I'm working on a deal to get a few fostex full range speakers to try with that dayton T-amp.  If I can't get them, I may try to set up a visit with deadfish to hear what it sounds like on his speakers.  Thanks for all the replies.

I have a Trends T-amp you can try. Contact Willie (drummerwill), he currently has it.

I have a Virtue 1 t-amp design that's about 40-50 watts per channel I bought for 270. + 40. for the PS, it sits in my system now replacing the Jolida 100w x 2 El34 PP tube amp.

Now this is expensive compared to the org. T (dirt cheap compared to my Jolida), but was designed by an Audience designer and is incredible, so anyone who has wanted to try a T-amp with standard spkrs. (me) now has a 30 day period.  http://www.tnt-audio.com/ampli/va_audiophile_one_e.html

I am awaiting my second one to use mine as mono amps, other comments on them: http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=64771.0   :D

this thing seems to me especially with my TVC to be incomprehensibly good
