Oh, this is down and dirty.  James Ellroy was the chief writer.  You know his work you know he can write crime.  Deep, convoluted plot twists in this but all is revealed.  Keanu Reeves is a surprise in this, think you will agree.  Called for a single minded, weary and leary shop worn character and he pulls it off.  This is not a pleasant movie, might not want to watch even with your sweetie, but there is somethin about this.  Heavy and dark, dark.

Keanu Reeves is worse than Richard Gere.
Even Forrest could only elevate the film so far.  Not a bad movie but almost any movie with Keanu is fighting an up hill battle.

Ok, you didn't agree.  As a one dimensional not to bright minded character, I thought his talents were well suited for the part.  It was the script that intrigued me.

I was entertained from what I can recall.  Reeves wasn't too bad but I always look at him and wish it was somebody else.  Thus with his presence I may be a little harder on a film.  This one wasn't bad and I see your point about the script etc...  Hey I actually saw this in the theater for whatever reason so that counts for something right.

I saw this tonight on StarzHD...I enjoyed it, thought it was well written and acted, Keanu was perfect for the role, as was Forrest..hey, everybody seemed perfect for whatever role they were playing. As for the unfolding of the plot, I was right there with Keanu, in the dark until the pieces just didn't fit then bam, all made sense.
Keanu may not be everybody cuppa tea, but I like his style, and find him perfect for all the roles I have seen him in. And its ok if you don't agree with my likes.  aa
By the way, I didn't see Richard Gere in this, so not sure where he figures in this movie.

Yep, I enjoyed this one too. I didn't expect much from it, but it had a cast of folks that I typically enjoy and it paid off. I was entertained by it from start to finish.

Saw this on HBO recently and was pleasantly surprised.  I actually thought Keanu Reeves played his part perfectly...and I'm not usually a fan of his.
