I guess cables and ic's DO make a difference.   aa

Bill, glad to hear that your high quality products will be joining Jim's high quality product.

This is more incentive for me to possibly pop out there for the show.

It will be very interesting to use the Musical Bella Cables with the Salk HT4s and AVA electronics at the AKFest.

To properly interface the AVA electronics we will need:

One pair of interconnects between the AVA DAC and the AVA preamp.

One pair of interconnects between the AVA Preamp and the AVA Bridge.

Two pairs of interconnects between the AVA Preamp and two AVA stereo power amps, to be run in bridged mode.

Speaker wires terminated preferably in double banana plugs at the amp end, or single banana plugs.  We prefer not to use spade lugs.

One interconnect cable between the CD transport and the AVA DAC.

All interconnects to be terminated in RCA plugs.

Thanks much for your help and support.

Best regards,

Frank Van Alstine

No Spades
no bare wire
no tinned ends
Should they be locking Bannanas.a'la WBT et.al.,
...is this for convenience & "show Condition swapping"

Why no spades?  Because people tighten them with a pipe wrench and break the connectors off.  :)

Frank/Jim, how long do you need all the wires to be?

Sure looking forward to hearing this set up.

Frank

I used spades with your Insight 440H amp and tighten them with a nut wrench. The binding posts didn't break off,
but they did start slipping with very little applied force.

Those cables are looking sweet Bill.

I look forward to hearing them in the Salk/AVA system.

George be sure to mention if you are going to make the trip.  I want to make sure I get a chance to meet you if you are there.

I plan on being at the show the 1st half of Saturday and at the opening for a few hours on Sunday.

Hope to meet some more AC members this year.  AK Fest is turning into a really great event that improves each year.

-Nick

Thanks for the comment Nick. Unfortunately, looks alone will probably not cut it with Jim and Frank's gear :|

As Frank has mentioned, a few more cable will be required to round out the system. What will be going is the following:

2 pairs Musica Bella MB Series "Bella" 2M Interconnect cables
2 pairs Musica Bella MB Series "Perfetto" 1M interconnect cables
 1 ---   Musica Bella SG Series 24 Digital Cale - 4 feet
1 set   Musica Bella MB Series "Musicale" 12 ft. speaker cable

You might want to talk to Frank about this and see if you can make sure you didn't damage anything inside the amp.

Binding posts are designed to be finger tight only, and you should never use a nut driver or wrench on them. (You should never need to if they are of reasonable quality.)

I returned the amp and got a refund.

The cheap binding posts on the AVA amp are only ones I've ever had problems with.
