Love seeing that JBL is alive and still a great design. I have a pair of Ti 120s and with the Bryston amps plus a Carey cd player I have been in sonic heaven ....  RMURRAY. :thumb:

Very nice. One of my favorite big-ass rock monitors, for sure. Right now, I am using a triamped set-up with the more refined 4345's and a pair of JBL SUB-1500's.

With capacitor upgrades and some TLC these old large format JBL's can really perform, even when compared to the latest and greatest. :wink:

I must say that the Bryston amps have made these 22 year old transducers dance like nere' before! My thanks to both james's...Lansing and Tanner; what a great synergistic team.   ..........rmurray.

Yes, back in the day, Crown or Mac were the bomb for driving JBLs. Bryston SST/2's are doing the job over here now.

4345 more refined? I'd not be so sure about that  :)
4350 aren't just for rock music. I'd been listening to classical music, even duets with cello and lute with a very low sound pressure and they can play  quite as good as my MBL 101 D's.
I'm thinking about selling the MBL's and keeping the JBL's.
I'm waiting for a passive x-over and, in the future, when I'll have some money, I'll try an active x-over (Bryston, maybe?) and biamping.
At the moment, my two 7 B ST's are doing a great job.

I will not change anything in them. Their design is great and I don't think it's a good idea to change anything, neither the cables  :D

 :?Only personal opinions were offered. Back in the day, I happened to like the 4350/5 for rock. And yes, IMHO even if brought up to modern standards, I prefer the 4345. The 2440/1 and 2311 combo can be a little harsh on my old ears these days. The 2307 isn't great either in this respect, but a lot more palatable. Once again, IMHO, YMMV.

I have the newer JBL's...the Studio L890s Not a bad speaker.
