My Week of Movie Watching

First of all, where the heck is everyone?? A week goes by w/out a single post?? C'mon people, I KNOW you're watching movies out there!!

Okay, here was my week...

"Yes Man" - Liked this one more than I expected...was a fun ride! 3.2/5

"Doubt" - Amazingly well-acted film (to be expected) with a very engaging and interesting plot. 4/5

"Timecrimes" - Very, very low budget thriller that was a nice surprise. Definitely worth a rental. 3.6/5

"Bedtime Stories" - Silly Sandler film geared toward kids....nothing special, but a few funny moments. 2.8/5

"Seven Pounds" - Still not sure how I feel about this one. Certainly held my interest and was well made. 3.2/5

"Happy Go-Lucky" - Ugh, just couldn't get into this one AT ALL. Found myself doing other things while it was playing. 2/5

"Rachel Getting Married" - Wow, just SHOOT ME NOW!!!  Critics loved it, I can't take this much manufactured drama. 1.5/5

"Let the Right One In" - Absolutely FANTASTIC foreign vampire film. This one exceeded expectations big time! 4.2/5

Been a while since I was able to get so many films in....was a fun week!

It is that time of the year when the longer days dictate more yard chores and less time to watch movies or listen to the system. :duh:

Vera and I watched Bed Time Stories the other night.  While I took a cat nap during a portion of the movie, what I actually saw was okay.  Rating would be 2.75 stars out of 5.

lol, yeah, you can definitely afford to doze off and pick right back up where you left off with that one....it wasn't bad considering it was a kids movie. Had one heck of a cast...Kerri Russel looked amazing, as usual :D

Saw

Paul Blart Mall Cop :: funnier than expected.  entertaining 3/5

New in Town :: again, better than expected.  chick flick, but tolerably so. 3/5

Cake Eaters :: ok, I didn't think it was as great as reviews made it out to be 3.5/5

Saw Doubt last night. Yes, definitely well acted, but I'm not so sure that people these days can sympathize with the plight that both the priest and the nun/principal were facing, as representatives of the church. At least not the people I know. It may be very different in the bible belt.

I agree with you on Seven Pounds. Very forgettable overall.

My kids also looked at S Darko recently and said it was one of the worst movies they remember, and almost nothing from the previews was actually in the movie.
