Acousitic Cove Lighting
« on: 11 Apr 2009, 03:00 pm »
I am in the processess of finishing my basement into a home theater / 2 channel listening environment and I will incorporate some cove lighting where strip light will be installed in a sofit approximately 6 inches below the ceiling that will up-light the ceiling.  Has anybody ever installed an acoustic "cove" where the ceiling and wall meet?

I have seen pictures of large panels that straddle the ceiling corner but no smaller architectural coves that could double for accoustical treatment.  The size is likely too small to do much but I thought I would ask.

Thanks.

Yes, sorry, bass traps need to be large to work well. Two feet wide is standard.

Thanks Ethan.  I figured that would be the answer.  I'll still be using the vertical corners to acheive the level of bass traping required.

Cheers,
