Hi All,

My modded 9100ES has suddenly stopped playing SACDs or the SACD layer on Hybrid Discs - the message on the display is "Cannot read disc". It is still playing regular CDs.

Has anyone experienced a similar problem - I assume it is the laser although I have not put that many hours on the player so I am disappointed to say the least.

Could be you need a new laser assembly, which Dan can do for you.  But it just may be a simple clean and lube of the sled to fix it.  First time my player went to Dan for some mods, I had him clean and lube.   Then when I had more mods done, I had a new laser assembly installed just for good measure and Dan sent me back my old one (fully functional) in case I needed a spare for the future.
