What's the best way to bi-amp
« on: 2 Apr 2009, 01:01 am »
I have a pair of amps that I want to use to bi-amp in to my Meadowlark Kestrels. Question is, what's the best way to do it? Should I use one amp for bass and one for treble or use one for left channel and the other for right channel?
Any thoughts welcome.

With identical amps I prefer one amp per speaker (vertical).
It is easy enough to try it both ways.

They are identical Linn 5105 dual mono amps. I guess I'll experiment this weekend. If done with one amp per channel they could be used out of the rack, set up near the speakers if desired. Thanks for the input.

Hopefully, around the end of the year, I'll be bi-amping with one of these between the amps. Sweet.

Have fun,

It's all hooked up and making music. Man that's a lot of wiring back there!
Sound? Too early to say for sure but first impression is more depth of field, better definition and clarity. Sometimes the anticipation of change causes enhanced listening experience for me and then it fades back into normalcy.

Hopefully there will be an opportunity for serious listening before the weekend is over.
