Edit (sorry)
730btu=0.213 kWhr, similar energy consumed when boiling electric kettle for 10 min.

Hi, how hot is 733 BTUs
.
1 BTU is the amount of energy needed to raise 1 pound of water 1°F
so, since since 10 gallons of water weighs roughly 80 lbs...733 BTU would heat 80 lbs of 50°F water to almost 60°F

If memory serves 1 BTU is roughly equal to .2931 Watts so 733 BTU is around 215 watts. I can't equate that to a temperature and this may be inaccurate/simplistic but I would not put my hand on a point source like a 200 watt bulb!

I could swear that years ago (late 80's) I had a brochure sheet that advised that the 3B amp I had at the time was better left on and actually sounded better after being on for 3 days and that the electricity used was the equivalent of a 100 watt light bulb. It was very long time ago so its entirely possible it wasn't in print but discussed during one of a few conversations I had with James Tanner who convinced me to hold off until I could afford the 3B over the 2B given the little Maggie SMGa speaker I had at the time. Now I'm on my 5th Bryston amp and will no doubt migrate to the "squared" version down the road somewhere...
