I'm thinking about buying a kit but I have ZERO experience.  Would love to find a guy to either build a custom cabinet for me and if that is not possible,  a guy that has a router and drill to assemble a kit I purchase.

I know this is a somewhat old post, but have you looked into Parts Express's pre-built cabs?

I may be moving up to the DC area soon, but I won't have anywhere to do any woodworking, really

I've got a Ryobi plunge router that you're welcome to use if you'd like.  I also have a drill.  Chances are, if you're buying the cabinets, a plunge router is all you'll need to make the holes for the drivers and connector cups.

  Try this guy. He built me some lovely 3way cabinets in cherry veneer.
