For sale is my Hypex UCD400 stereo class-D amp (200W at 8ohm, 400W at 4ohms). I purchased
it from the builder, Tim Rawson in December 06 on audiogon. Tim is a highly respected
amplifier builder on audiogon with many very happy customers including me. This has been
the best-sounding amp I have ever owned, and it drove my power-hungry Gallo Ref 3
speakers beautifully for about 2 years. I much preferred it to the McCormack and Parasound
amps I previously owned. I recently sold my Gallo's, and my current 96db efficient
speakers only need a few watts, so it is time to sell. (2+ years with the same amp
probably tells you how much I liked this one.) Soundstage and imaging were superb with
my old Gallo's. Like many of Tim's amps this is not in a pretty case - just raw aluminum
bar stock. I also added some heatsink fins since I live in Arizona and am fanatical about
cooling all my equipment.
