The Lafayette catalogs were my wish book when I was young. I just noticed in the 1965 RS catalog matched pairs of Mullard EL34's were $5.75 and ECC82's were a whopping $1.23 each. My how times have changed.

Yeah Paul...Lafayette was right up the road for both of us growing up (in Syosset in the 70's and 80's at least)

I don't think they had stores nationwide tho...only catalog

I have an Allied Electronics catalog from 1969 in very good condition that I found at an antique shop. I also have a Dyncao catalog from 1976 in mint condition that I got on eBay. I cherish some of the illustrations, they are a hoot! In the Allied catalog, there is an AR-XA table w/cartridge for $83. There is also an Empire 398A with cartridge (999ve) for $224.95. There is also a Marantz 7T preamp for 325 and a Model 15 power amp for 395. Walnut cabinets for both are 29.50. Lots of Scott receivers, too.
