Convenience and the Ultimate 70

Hi Frank,
I wish the power switch on my U70 was on the front of the amp and the audio inputs were on the back. I understand Dynaco's design, short wiring, reducing noise and possibly hum. Have you had experience moving the AC switch and the audio inputs or can you tell me if I will run into problems doing so. Any suggestions please.
Thanks for you time.

I actually have a new U70 chassis in the final design stage. The prototype does have the power switch in the front and the inputs in the back and that is working out well with our layout. No noise issues. The input connections do use shielded cables and the AC power is routed at the extreme edge of the chassis.

I just use a power strip with mine. I am trying to be more "green" and using a switched power strip/surge protector to keep electricity from flowing where/when it isn't needed.

Frank,
When you get the Ultimate 70 moved from design stage into full production mode, I would love to hear a pair of Ultimate 70s as "monoblocks".
I suspect that there are other readers here that would be curious about how those would stack up against other tube gear.

Frank,
What would be the cost to put my Dynaco chasis Ultimate 70s into the new Van Alstine chasis?

Actually the proposed AVA U70 chassis requires a different board layout so just porting a Dyna layout to an AVA layout is not easy.

Hey there OldCoder, a member here, rlee8394, has a couple of Ultimate 70 amps that I think he would like to sell. Send him an e-mail and perhaps you can have bridged U70 amps quicker than you would expect.

Hi Frank,
Of course we all want to see your prototype U70 as soon as you have photographs.
Have a good evening,
