It won't stream FM radio at all. There's no FM radio receiver.

It will stream web radio stations that broadcast in MP3 or AAC. It won't stream web radio stations that broadcast in WMA.

Watson is correct. However, if you are using iTunes to broadcast to your AE unit, and your favorite FM station has streaming content for the internet, you can add that station to iTunes. It's easy:

  • While iTunes is running, choose Advanced > Open Stream.

  • Enter the URL for the Internet radio station's stream in the Open Stream window's URL field.

  • Click the OK button.

This will automatically add the station to your chosen library. Double click the station name and there ya' go; streaming FM radio!  :thumb:

Have fun,
Jerry

Jerry, I tried to add the URL but the radio station does not appear in my library.
This is what the url looks like:

http://corusmedia.media.streamtheworld.com/player/Player.htm?id=cilqfm&city=Toronto&bdskey=4831&url=http://www.q107.com&platform=EMMISFM&active=true

does this look ok to you?? or do I need to edit it?

rtate,

I am no expert on streaming.

But I checked out the link for classic Q107, That appears to be a Flash media type streamer. That cannot be played within iTunes. As Watson states below,  AAC, MP3 is needed for iTunes playback. you can add any broadcast using those media formats even if it is not previously listed in the Radio section of iTunes.

Though, you can send flash format audio and any sound format to you Airport Express, using a "hijacking" app- these are legal, they are just routing the audio files to your AE. On mac I use Airfoil by Rogueamoeba. This is not a free app (though a trial exists). There must be an equivalent for Windows OS. you haven't stated whether you are on mac or PC.

Some stations offer an option of WMA, Flash, iTunes, or Real format, though that is not common.
