I don't recall seeing if anyone did a head to head comparison on these two units. I owned the Sony for a few weeks and found it to be okay, but not as natural sounding as my Unico/Pioneer PD-65 set up.
Unfortunately, a supposedly "normal" hum in the Unico is starting to drive me nuts and I'm selling it. I have been thinking about going back to separates (maybe a Carver ZR1000 and an IRD Purist?) but I'm tempted to give the Panasonic a try. So, I'm wondering if anyone has actually heard both of these units?
I also am wondering if anyone out there who owns the XR45 or XR25 would actually consider using it as the centerpiece of their two channel MAIN system (not just as a home theater or second system).
