This is rather an odd post, and one that I didn't know where else to put. Mr Facilitator, please move as appropriate.

In essence, my father has just died and I am back in England for a few weeks. One of the things I have to do is to liquidate his estate. He has been slimming this down himself for several years, but there are still things that I have to dispose of, including his vintage audio gear.

Since it won't be practicable to ship most of this to North America, I'm looking for links to relevant UK discussion groups. I know that AC includes UK members, but I'm sure they must be in a minority. The only UK-based board I'm aware of is AV Forums, but there must be others. I also have his non-audio stuff to dispose of, including interesting oddities like a Raleigh bicylce and a sidewheel push-mower, both dating from the mid 1930s. Then there's his Aldis slide projector, Eumig cine projector and screen, and various hand and power tools. Any pointers to appropriate UK sites groups will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance,

Martyn

Three UK based 'fora' spring immediately to mind -

http://www.zerogain.com/forum/

http://www.hifiwigwam.com/

http://www.pinkfishmedia.net/forum/index.php

You may also try a sales listing at one of these -

Hope things go smoothly for you at a difficult time...

Thank you for the links and the condolences - both are appreciated. This is a difficult time, but it comes to all of us eventually and is the price we pay for the privilege of life.

Don't forget eBay, it is worldwide and collectors prowl there for old classics.
Sorry about your Dad.

Thanks. Yes, eBay is a possibility, but I'm here for only a few weeks and, for various reasons, I'm staying with my sister-in-law. The additional complexities of packaging and shipping from her spare bedroom are not encouraging. I've never used eBay, so I don't have a feedback record and I don't know how unreasonable it might be to run an auction where "prefer buyer to collect" is a qualification!

It's perfectly reasonable, and EBay allows pickup only as an option on the auction listing (unless it's changed lately, or different in other countries).
